FloydFest for the WIN!

Appalachian Voices’ IT Specialist Jeff Deal and I enjoying the main stage show with FloydFest’s Chief Operating Officer Sam Calhoun and his wife Trisha

Now through May 31, become a new member of Appalachian Voices and be entered to win two 4-day tickets* to the fabulous FloydFest held July 25-29 near Floyd, Va.!

The drawing is part of our year-long campaign, Membership for the Win!, in which each month we will give away a gift to one of our new members.

One of my favorite events of the year, FloydFest features five days of arts and music (over 100 acts on nine stages!), quality food and brews, and numerous other options like hikes, massages and workshops. Organizers work hard to weave a magical atmosphere while strongly emphasizing environmental stewardship through initiatives like water bottle filling stations, compostable utensils and plates, and a massive recycling center.

I’ve worked with Appalachian Voices for the past 10 years, helping create visual and technical tools for Appalachian Voices. Working with our IT Specialist Jeff Deal and other team members, our projects with Google Earth on iLoveMountains.org have helped expose the continued threat of mountaintop removal coal mining, and we also provide communication tools that help concerned citizens take action on the encroaching threat of pipelines and natural gas.

Your membership will enable our team to continue defending the beautiful Appalachian region from these threats and create a sustainable future for everyone. Learn what membership entails and join us today.

See you at FloydFest!

*The FloydFest winning package includes two 4-day tickets to the festival (Thurs-Sun). The package does NOT include lodging or other special permits. Please visit Floydfest.com for information about camping and lodging.
